Becky Moody

Becky is married to Bob and together they have a son, two daughters, and four grandchildren.  Becky works as a Training Administrator for the Division of Public Health and also supports her community as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteer where she has worked with foster children for the past 11 years.  As a CASA, Becky represents the child’s wants and best interests in court while encouraging education and self-confidence to lead a more productive life.

While Becky has always enjoyed playing sports and working out at the gym, she was first introduced to pickleball by a friend.  She took a beginner class in 2016 and has been addicted ever since.  She enjoys playing with her husband, competitively in tournaments and just for fun.  Becky says pickleball is her happy place and is the best sport for so many reasons.  She says “it’s fun, competitive, great exercise, a sport that can be played year-round both indoor and outdoor and you meet nice people who share the same passion.  Becky represents Kent County as a USPA Pickleball Ambassador and is also the part-time manager at Courtside Pickleball & Tennis Club. Jeffrey D. Pickering

Jeff is a USPTA certified elite professional, PTR certified professional, USTA Net Generation Safe Play certified provider and a member of the USRSA. As a player, he achieved substantial success in multiple years as a USTA top ranked player in the state of Delaware. As a tennis professional, Jeff coaches and teaches students of all ages and abilities. It is the balance of his methodical instruction and game-based drills that have served his students well. Numerous junior students have gone on to win high school conference and state championships as well as attain USTA rankings. Additionally, many of his adult students have competed in USTA sanctioned tournaments and leagues. He is an accomplished and well-respected player and coach who has been involved in the tennis industry for over 40 years. Jeff welcomes players to learn a sport that can be enjoyed for a lifetime! Tony Hernandez

Tony is a proud former Marine and a retired police officer who currently works as a state of Delaware investigator.Tony discovered Pickleball in 2015 and immediately fell in love with the sport. Tony enjoys playing Pickleball because he is always meeting new people and making new friends. Tony loves the competitive spirit of tournament play as well as the comradery in recreation play. Tony enjoys being a member of a Pickleball team that runs tournaments for and has been doing so for a few years. Tony’s motto is, Provide services to others as you like to receive. 

Ken Haley

Ken Haley lives in the Smyrna area where he has resided his entire life.  After a short stretch in the military, during the late sixties, he had several jobs before graduating from college and getting married.  He then began his career as a financial auditor with the United States government, and after over 30 years of service recently retired.  Recreational tennis has been a part of Ken’s life for many years and he has played on several USTA teams.  Over the past three years he has also taken up pickleball, entering several tournaments, with some success.  His other interest include hunting and fishing with his son, caring for his beagles, and maintaining his vegetable garden and property.  Ken believes tennis and pickleball are great recreational and social events and by volunteering his time to the Courtside Pickleball and Tennis Club he will assist in ensuring a strong future for the areas tennis and pickleball community.

Louise Lantz

Louise lives in Dover, works at Mitchell’s Interiors in Laurel, De. and has a small Design business as well.
She has played tennis for over 40 years, and served on the Board of Colonial Tennis Club for 15 years, and then again for 14 years.
She joined the Advisory Board of Courtside hoping to further tennis and pickleball in the Dover area.

Linda Rhodes

Linda Rhodes lives in West Grove, PA with her husband, Charlie, and her son, Mike. She currently works as a financial accountant in Garnet Valley, PA. Linda’s outside interests include playing tennis and she’s recently discovered pickleball. Linda has played in the USTA tennis leagues for over 20 years and now has added pickleball tournaments to her schedule. Linda likes getting people excited about what she’s excited about. Right now, that’s pickleball! She’s pushed all of her non-tennis playing family members to pickleball and they all share her addiction! On days when she’s not playing pickleball, she’s usually sewing or exercising at the local YMCA. Linda feels that pickleball can be whatever you want it to be, recreational, social and/or competitive and she’d like to help others get the same joy from pickleball that she does.

Mike Sweeney

Mike moved to Dover, Delaware in 1986 with the Air Force and has been in private practice with Internal Medicine of Dover since 1989. He currently lives in Wyoming with his wife,  Lynne.  They have 4 children and 9 grandchildren. Mike previously played a lot of basketball but had to stop due to knee problems.  He now play tennis and pickleball and enjoys both.
